(*) Where to Begin? (*)

The first Japanese cartoons (anime), arrived in Brazil for almost 30 years. At this time, the Brazilian television began the first programs to  colors. All were surprised, those drawings already so different from the usual drawings of Walt Disney and Max Fleischer. But gradually, the characters with big eyes and expressive, and his original adventures were gaining public sympathy.
The defunct TV Tupi brought one of the first Japanese cartoons, The Man of Steel (Tetsujin 28 Go). Later, the other stations also bring the pioneers MarineBoy (Ganbare! Marin Kid), Eighth Man (Eito Man), Super Dynamo (Paa Man), Prince Planet (Yuusei Shonen Papi) and Squadron Rainbow (Rainbow Sentai Robin).

From 1968 to 1973, various series in black and white were displayed in full, especially in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. This made possible the transformation of some characters into true classics. In the late '60s, the great heroes were the Eighth Man and Prince Planet. Already in the '70s, Speed Racer (Mach Go Go Go) and Princess Knight (Ribon no Kishi), reigned absolute. This decade was also marked by the transmission of Fantomas (Ogoni Bato) and Sawamu (Kiku no Oni). In the late '70s and early '80s, the then newly-born broadcaster TVS / SBT has decided to invest heavily in anime, especially among those with a more dramatic and romantic appeal. It was time for Heidi (on Arupsu Shooju Haiji), Candy Candy, Honey Honey and Marco (Haha the Tazunete Sanzenri) earn their space on the screen in Brazil. In the 80s, the viewers' attention was diverted to the TV Headline, which had on its schedule one of the icons of Japanese Animation, Star Patrol (Chuusenkan Yamato). This design became a mania in Canada, USA and Japan and in Brazil was no different. But having a legion of worshipers was not only the privilege of Star Patrol, others also won thousands of Brazilian fans.Gloizer (Gloizer X), Don Dracula, Robotech, The Star Wars (Macross) and Zillion (Akai Koudan Jirion), still makes fans sigh with longing.
